Abstract
The article proposes a critical analysis of spaces of political engagement, particularly those of close engagement and of activist engagement among New Brunswick women. We define the notion of engagement in such a way as to better understand how women are experiencing an invisibilisation in certain spaces. To illustrate this we execute an analysis of the presentation in the social and political spaces by New Brunswick’s media of the activist struggle of the Coalition sur l’équité salariale (the Pay Equity Coalition). This analysis outlines how the close engagement of women about paid employment that is traditionally perceived as feminin labour is perceived in both these spaces.
